Frequently Asked Questions
What Is Potable Water?
Potable water, also known as drinking water, comes from surface and ground sources and is treated to levels that meet state and federal standards for consumption. We source our water from city municipalities to ensure that we are delivering the best quality of water.
How Much Water Do Your Trucks Carry?
Our standard trucks hold 3,000 gallons of water at a time. We also have a tanker with a 6,500 gallon capacity that we use for large projects depending on the accessibility of the property. Under most circumstances a member of our team will need to do a site visit in order to determine tanker accessibility.
How Will We Deliver Water To Your Business?
In order for us to deliver water you must have a storage tank to hold the water. More often than not a storage tank will have a lid on the top that can be removed and we will fill it through that. If the tank does not have an opening of at least 4 inches on top then you would need to outfit it with a 2 inch or 3 inch camlock with a backflow valve in order for us to fill the tank. If your business does not have the capacity to store water then you will need to have a tank system installed before we can provide delivery.
Water Delivery Considerations
Things to keep in mind when ordering a water delivery of any size. A loaded water truck can weigh up to 54,000 pounds (depending on truck model) unlike a garbage truck that weighs approximately 33,000 pounds fully loaded. Considering the weight of the trucks we prefer to stay on well compacted ground and to avoid underground hazards such as septic tanks and leech fields. Other environmental hazards to keep in mind are low hanging branches or powerlines seeing that the average height of our trucks are 11ft tall and 8ft wide. We also ask that you secure loose animals to provide a more streamlined delivery. Our team of drivers are very experienced and will make the final determination on where they can safely park the truck with consideration to the property owner’s preference.
